Sample Post 3: Even More Obama
Last time we took up immigration reform, it failed. Four years ago, I stood before you and told you my story - of the brief union between a young man from Kenya and a young woman from Kansas who weren't well-off or well-known, but shared a belief that in America, their son could achieve whatever he put his mind to. I am a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims.
But she had a healthy skepticism of religion as an institution. And the lack of basic services in so many urban black neighborhoods - parks for kids to play in, police walking the beat, regular garbage pick-up and building code enforcement - all helped create a cycle of violence, blight and neglect that continue to haunt us. So don't tell me that Democrats won't defend this country. I realize that I am not the likeliest candidate for this office. That is why we welcome efforts like Saudi Arabian King Abdullah's Interfaith dialogue and Turkey's leadership in the Alliance of Civilizations. The same is true for the astonishing progress within Muslim-majority countries from Kuala Lumpur to Dubai.
